Outerwear manufacturer Item House Incorporated has hired designer George Simonton to launch a new coat collection.

Coats in the range will feature details reminiscent of current ready-to-wear trends such as oversize buttons, empire waistlines, topstitching, balloon hems and fur trims.

The George Simonton outerwear collection will also include George Simonton Couture and George Simonton Studio lines.

As well as selling his outerwear at stores including Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus, Lord & Taylor and Nordstrom, Simonton is a tenured professor at FIT, a member of the CFDA and recently starred in the reality show "I Don't Have a Thing to Wear."

Item House designs, manufactures and distributes women's fashion coats and outerwear under the Kirsten Blake, Forecaster of Boston, Pendleton, Sachi, Taifun, Artifacts, Pritti and Aeros labels.
