The organisers of the ITMA textile and garment machinery show say innovations that promote sustainability will be under the spotlight at the next event, which will be held in Milan, Italy in 2015.

The theme of the exhibition is 'Master the Art of Sustainable Innovation'.

"The drive towards sustainability is increasingly integrated with enlightened business practices," said Stephen Combes, president of Cematex, which owns the show.

"The keyword here is 'sustainability', and we hope industry members will join us in this responsible mission to promote more eco-friendly solutions and practices for the entire textile and garment value chain."

Organisers expect ITMA 2015 to span over 100,000 square metres of exhibition space and attract over 1,400 exhibitors.

Cematex said initiatives introduced in 2011, including the World Textile Summit and the Sustainable Textile Leaders Roundtable Dialogue were immensely popular and it intends to continue them.

It also plans to hold conferences and workshops on sustainable innovations and the exhibition will have a bigger focus on waste management and recycling.
