Bankrupt luxury clothing maker Ittierre has signed a five-year deal to produce and distribute John Galliano's collections of men's wear, women's wear and leather goods.

The worldwide agreement starts with the autumn/winter 2009/2010 collection, and concludes with the autumn/winter 2014/2015 collection.

It follows the launch of Galliano's women's wear collection, also made by Ittierre, in 2006.

The deal is subject to approval by the authorities of the Extraordinary Administration Procedure under which Ittierre is currently being run following its descent into bankruptcy.

Ittierre's Extraordinary Commissioners said the agreement confirmed the company's international scope and operational capabilities.

"We are particularly satisfied to have reached this strategic five-year agreement for the whole Galliano world, including apparel, leather accessories and the extension to the men's collections of the former agreement devoted to the women's collections," they added.

"Galliano is a very well-known brand, with great commercial success and development potential."
