British fashion firm Jaeger has launched an exclusively designed women's wear collection at US department store group Saks Fifth Avenue.

The collection, which includes luxury knitwear and coordinated woven separates, will be available in 11 Saks stores nationwide, including the Saks Fifth Avenue store in New York City.

Belinda Earl, Jaeger's group chief executive says the collection is helping to "re-establish our presence in the USA."

Opening prices start at $170 and close at $425 with key price points at $250-$350.

Jaeger, which is in the midst of repositioning itself as a luxury British brand, first announced plans to launch a range with the US department store chain in June.

At the time the group said full year profit had risen 45% to GBP5.0m (US$10.0m), while sales climbed 22% to GBP70.6m from GBP58.1m.

It also said it wanted to double its stores outside Britain from 40 to 80, and enter a raft of new markets, including the US, South Asia, Australia and Eastern Europe, over the next two years.
