Apparel producer Jeantex said its subsidiary Yves Castaldi has received an order worth up to US$2.6m in retail value for 11,000 pieces of I-Generation denim jeans from its French distributor.

A significant portion of the order will be sold through the Galeries Lafayette store on Haussman Boulevard, and the rest will be sold in other Lafayette locations throughout France as well as other leading department stores and upscale boutiques.

Jeantex will ship the order in the first quarter of its financial year.

Yves Castaldi, chief executive and lead designer, said: "We are very pleased to announce this new order both from our French distributor and Galeries Lafayette. We believe the addition of new, high profile customers like Galeries Lafayette represent a strong opportunity for our business in the 2006 fiscal year.

"We are encouraged with our momentum and look forward to increasing the growth of our diverse portfolio of leading brands."

The company's I-Generation brand is a premium unisex denim collection with an emphasis on fit, colour and quality of denim. The line has recently expanded from basic denim to a collection with hand stitching, embroidery, and studding.

The company majority owns Yves Castaldi, which designs high-end apparel under the Just Yves, I Generation, Instinct Yves and Yves Castaldi Raw Denim brands, as well as high-quality jeans, T-Shirts, and accessories under the Bone People trademark.
