Abbey National's new 'innovation' collection launching winter 2000/1 has been designed by Jeff Banks on behalf of leading corporate clothing manufacturer InCorporateWear Limited exclusively for Abbey National. The range comprises 35 styles that will be selected and worn by over 7,000 Abbey National staff working in 700 high street retail banking outlets throughout the UK.

Jeff Banks, international designer commenting on the new collection said: "Abbey National wanted a radical departure from regimented fabrics and 'corporate uniforms' to innovative styles that people felt really good in and that reflected cutting-edge high street fashion trends." He added: "The innovation collection combines up- to- the-minute design features and colours with the most advanced fabrics in a choice of styles. I have designed a high impact, fashion collection that will enable people to choose styles that really suit them."

Lloyd McCall, sales and marketing director at InCorporateWear Limited went on to explain: "Abbey National wanted innovative designs with a strong corporate identity that would withstand the daily rigours of corporate wear and tear. To ensure the longevity and performance of the innovation collection Jeff Banks has made full use of technologically advanced fabrics. We have worked closely with Morada to ensure that the wool, polyester and Lycra mix over fabric performed well in all conditions with the P91 lining fabric. It fully met all our technical requirements and so was selected for the entire collection."

Rob Morris, managing director, Morada International Limited said: "We are delighted that the P91 lining was selected for this prestigious, high profile collection. It has been developed for precisely such a use. "

The P91 lining is constructed from a soft, lustrous, high quality polyester yarn that has been treated to give it excellent moisture dispersant properties making it comfortable to wear for long periods of time even in warmer conditions. It is also colour fast and shrink resistant in machine washes of up to 60 degrees centigrade and offers exceptionally good sewing performance against seam slippage.
