The Japan International Apparel Machinery Trade Show (JIAM) is returning to Osaka in September 2012 for its tenth edition.

Arranged by the Japan Sewing Machinery Manufacturers Association (JASMA), the event has been held every three years since 1984, showcasing the latest machinery from leading manufacturers in Japan and elsewhere.

But organisers were forced to change the schedule for the latest event to Japan instead of 2011 in Singapore as originally planned.

They blame the decision "on the significant negative impact that the Japanese sewing machinery manufacturing industry has suffered following upheavals in the global economy stemming from the financial crisis in 2008, as well as proposed schedules for similar international trade shows by other organisers."

The next JIAM will be held from 19-22 September at INTEX Osaka.
