Jil Sander AG, part of Italian fashion group Prada, on Friday said turnover for the first six months of 2002 fell 1.7 per cent to 68 million euros.

It posted a loss of 13.6 million euros compared to a loss of 10.7 million euros for the same period last year.

The company blamed its widening loss and fall in turnover on the recession in Europe and North America. It said falling sales made it difficult to cover the cost of new investments.
