Fashion apparel company Perry Ellis International Inc has appointed Joseph Roisman, executive vice president for PEI, as a member of its board of directors.

In this capacity, Roisman will serve on the board as a voting member of The Beacon Council and will assist with developing the strategic direction and operational policies of the organisation. He will also help monitor the budget and the performance of the Beacon Council.

Said George Feldenkreis, president and chief executive officer of Perry Ellis International: "In his 30-plus years with our company, Joe has held a variety of key senior-level management roles that have directly contributed to our growth and emergence as a leader in men's apparel."

Roisman has held various positions since at Perry Ellis International since 1970 when the company was still known as Supreme International. As executive vice president, Roisman has overseen numerous aspects of the company, including sales, sourcing, and operations.
