Claims by shareholders in Warnaco Group Inc that accounting firm Deloitte & Touche helped hide Warnaco's true financial condition before it collapsed into bankruptcy in 2001 have been thrown out by a judge in Manhattan.

The lawsuit alleged that Deloitte, Warnaco's outside accountant in 2000 and in 2001, knowingly made a number of false statements about the company's financial situation.

Warnaco, whose brands include Calvin Klein and Speedo, sought Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in June 2001. It emerged from bankruptcy in February 2003.
