Justwin Technologies and Scanvec Garment Systems (SGS) have teamed up in a joint venture agreement that will make 2D and 3D CAD images and data accessible to entire product development, production, and supply chain processes.

The two companies plan to develop a tight integration between Justwin's Collaborative Product Commerce (CPC) software solutions and key components of SGS's 2D and 3D Computer-Aided Design (CAD) solutions. The new initiative promises to impact the apparel, textile, footwear, home furnishings, and other sewn-products industries - which both companies currently serve.

The initial focus of the joint venture will be the integration of pattern and marker data and graphics from all major CAD systems into the Justwin solution. Additionally, Justwin will embed SGS's new VR Model virtual modelling technology in its product, enabling users to view prototypes and styles in a 3D model. This integration will help the customers of both companies by speeding up development cycles, improving product collaboration, and reducing time to market.

"SGS is extremely pleased to enter into this co-operative development agreement with Justwin Technologies", said Mark Mandrano, director - North American sales at SGS. "Justwin shares our commitment to open-systems solutions. This collaboration will allow us to integrate these robust solutions, thus enhancing the user experience, while maintaining accessibility of these technologies to companies of all sizes."

"The integration of CAD data and images into the enterprise platform greatly enhances collaboration between all members of a supply chain," commented Rick Ludolph, executive vice president at Justwin Technologies. "We serve industries that rely heavily on visual communication throughout all their processes. This integration will provide our clients with the most advanced visual collaboration capabilities available today."
