Apparel and accessories business Kate Spade has appointed John Auerbach as senior vice president of digital and e-commerce strategy.

Auerbach has taken up the new role with immediate effect and will oversee and lead strategy, operations and implementation of Kate Spade's global e-commerce capabilities, reporting to president and COO George Carrara.

With significant luxury e-commerce experience, Auerbach most recently held the position of international managing director of digital and e-commerce at Christie's. Prior to this he spent more than five years with Gilt Groupe, where he held roles of increasing responsibility as part of the founding leadership team. He has also established several technology-based ventures, including online fashion retailer Eloquii.
"At Kate Spade & Company, we are focused on building strong and lasting relationships with our customers, and connecting with them at their convenience, in their preferred channel, at any given time," says Carrara. "Under John's leadership, we will continue to develop a centre of excellence for our digital and e-commerce capabilities as we grow as a global, mult-ichannel lifestyle brand."
