Lithuanian women's wear manufacturer Kauno Baltija has halved the time spent on making samples after implementing Lectra's 3D virtual prototyping solution, the company says.

Kauno Baltija, which produces around 700,000 garments per year for seven high-end European brands, launched its own brand, Loulu et tu, in 2013.

Using Lectra's 3D virtual prototyping solution, it has been able to reduce development time, achieve perfect fit and facilitate seamless communication at the product development stage.

"Quality cannot exist without perfect fit," says director Vidas Butkus. "Fit is now the most important factor in high-end fashion. People will buy new brands, but unless they fit well, the clientele won't come back. Fit guarantees customer loyalty and allows you to remain competitive."

The 3D solution provides visibility between the designers, freelance designers and in-house pattern makers, and those managing the brand, allowing for early decision making.
