Apparel maker Kellwood Company has bought outdoor clothing company Isis in a move that adds to a brand line-up which already includes Vince, Baby Phat and SAG Harbor.

Isis, which focuses on the expanding market for women's performance and casual apparel, will become part of Kellwood's American Recreation Products unit, alongside outdoor brands like Royal Robbins, Kelty, Slumberjack and SwissGear.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Kellwood now plans to build the Isis business, with the goal of doubling its sales over the next four years by expanding its distribution channels and driving revenue through additional specialty dealers and its on-line business.

"In an otherwise challenging retail and fashion marketplace, ISIS continues to perform well, with solid operations, a loyal customer base, and a track record of growth," said Michael W Kramer, Kellwood's president and CEO.

Founded in 1998, Isis's design philosophy blends distinctive feminine fashion with cutting edge technical features to differentiate the line.
