Liz Claiborne Inc today announced a licensing agreement with Kellwood Company to make men's dress shirts under the Claiborne label.

The newly designed Claiborne men's dress shirt line will be launched to the trade this month and will be available in department and specialty stores beginning in spring 2003.

The line will be designed and marketed by Kellwood and produced by its subsidiary, Smart Shirts Ltd.

"Licensing our brands is a key aspect of our growth strategy that enables us to extend the brand's presence in the market," said Karen Murray, president, Menswear Group.

Liz Claiborne Inc designs and markets an extensive range of fashion apparel and accessories for women, men, teens, children and infants. The men's shirt line will join the two other brands Kellwood designs and markets to leading retailers: Nautica and Ron Chereskin.
