Apparel and footwear maker Kenneth Cole Productions Inc has posted a rise in fourth quarter profit to $10.14 million, compared to $8.41m in the same period of fiscal 2002.

The New York-based company, which partly attributed the upturn to higher licensing revenue, also reported a revenue increase to $129.2m for the three-month period, up from $117.4m in the previous fourth quarter.

"We are pleased to have completed our fiscal year with another strong quarter," CEO Kenneth Cole said.

"I am proud of the continued efforts of the organisation to not only maintain inventory and appropriate expense levels, but to stay focused and realistic as to the wellbeing of our brands and the environment within which we are doing business."

Kenneth Cole designs, produces and markets products under the Unlisted and Bongo brands, as well as its namesake label.
