French luxury group Kering has closed the sale of its Vertbaudet and Cyrillus children and family clothing brands to the Alpha Private Equity Fund 6 for EUR119m (US$153.9m).

The group, which is currently in the process of changing its name from PPR, has been slowly divesting brands from its Redcats division as it restructures to focus on its luxury and sportswear businesses.

APEF 6 specialises in the acquisition and development of medium-sized companies, including spin-offs from large corporations with the support of their management teams.

In late February, PPR entered into an agreement to sell its Scandinavian apparel and homewares brands Ellos and Jotex to Nordic Capital Fund VII for EUR275m (US$365m).

Meanwhile, in December, PPR's Redcats unit sold its Sportsman's Guide and The Golf Warehouse businesses, which sells clothing and accessories for outdoor activities including hunting and golf, to Northern Tool + Equipment (NTE) for $215m.
