Kevin Stanford, who co-established the Karen Millen high-street chain, is joining fashion chain operator Moss Bros as an adviser.

Stanford - who holds a 28.22 per cent stake in Moss Bros - will concentrate on brand development at the company, which has recently updated its image.

Stanford recently raised his stake in high-street department-store chain Marks & Spencer to GBP50 million

Icelandic investment group Baugur - which Stanford holds an 8 per cent stake in, acquired Karen Millen a year ago for GBP120m.

Moss Bros came has reported a 3 per cent rise in same-store sales for the 26-week period ended 30 July.
