KG Denim Ltd has set up a new company called Trigger Apparels Ltd to oversee growth of its Trigger jeans brand and retail outlets, and has set up a wholly-owned subsidiary company to help its expansion in the US.

Trigger 1932 Jeans, the garment business division KG Denim Ltd, a part of the Coimbatore based KG Group of Companies, is a major player in India's mid-priced denim market.

The company says it aims to increase the Trigger brand turnover from INR40 crore to INR70 crore for the year ending June 2006. The company has already increased its capacity and is mulling a move into kids and women's western wear.

KG Denim exports more than 50% of its output, and believes the setting up of KG Denim (USA) Inc will help it substantially expand its business in the US, which is already a major market for the company.
