The UK-based La Senza lingerie chain is hiring Rose Foster, the former CEO of Monsoon, as its new chief executive it was confirmed to just-style today (24 November).

Foster quit her role at the Monsoon fashion group last week, just one day after she sold her 90,000 shares in the firm for GBP380,000 (US$734,296).

Foster had been at the struggling fashion retailer for five years, having previously been at value fashion chain New Look.

La Senza Ltd, which has 118 stores, was sold to private equity firm Lion Capital in July. Lion Capital is currently in the process of buying another lingerie specialist, Contessa, and plans to merge the two companies to form the UK's second-largest lingerie retail chain.

La Senza Ltd is the UK licensee of La Senza Corp, based in Montreal, Canada. La Senza Corp last week revealed it is being sold to US retailer Limited Brands in a deal worth about CAD710m (US$626.86m).
