The remaining UK La Senza stores will shutter with the loss of 253 jobs

La Senza's remaining UK stores are set to shutter after administrators failed to find a buyer for the lingerie chain, despite advanced talks with a number of retailers.

PwC were appointed administrators of Marnixheath Ltd - trading in the UK as La Senza and Pinkberry - in July, following the failure of efforts to make the businesses more commercially viable.

This was the second time the company, which operated 55 of La Senza's stores across the UK, has been placed into administration.

Since the appointment, the administrators have continued to assess interest in the brand and the remaining store portfolio, which has included "advanced discussions with a number of retailers".

However, no viable solution could be agreed and the remaining stores will close, resulting in 253 job losses, joint administrator Robert Moran said in a statement.

But there has been interest from other retailers regarding the property estate, he noted, adding: "We are in a number of advanced discussions."
