Outdoor clothing and equipment firm Lafuma is to cut 161 posts in France amid a first-half net loss of EUR60m.

On a year-on-year basis, sales fell over 15% to EUR 103m during the half ended 31 March.

The group is to cut 83 jobs at its surfwear brand Oxbow, almost two-thirds of the pay-roll and will entail the closure of a logistics centre.

Oxbow accounted for more than half of the net loss and its H1 sales were down 35%.

The group is also to shed 60 staff at its Lafuma brand base in Anneyron as well transferring 46 workers to another site. Some 18 commercial posts are to be axed too.

The company currently employs 650 workers in France.
