The Lenzing Group, producer of manmade cellulose fibers, is increasing its fibre prices by at least 5 per cent at the beginning of the first quarter 2006.

The company says this latest rise is due to steady price increase of raw materials and rising energy costs at all Lenzing production sites during the past weeks.

It adds that rising raw materials and energy costs cannot be covered by the price increases that are already being implemented in the fourth quarter 2005.

The new prices apply to textile and nonwoven fibres, and the exact price increases will depend on the fibre type.
