In a move to extend its appeal, long established linen specialist Ulster Weavers has announced the launch of its first ever woollens collection.

Suitable for sale into both the women's and the men's wear markets, the designs will include typical Irish tweeds with the emphasis on Donegal-styles as well as soft handle lambswools.

"The decision to introduce all wool fabrics is a follow-on to the success enjoyed last season by wool linen blends which have already extended the scope of our export sales into several new markets," says the company.

Meanwhile, having recently acquired the Moygashel brand Ulster Weavers is planning to relaunch this l950s label with an image more in tune with 2lst century.
