Outdoor apparel maker LLBean is launching a new men's and women's sportswear line to coincide with its centenary.

The LLBean Signature brand designed by creative director Alex Carleton, will make its debut with a spring 2010 catalogue and website. 2m copies of the catalogue are being distributed nationwide, the company says.

Key looks for men include lightweight, tailored linen blazers, buffalo plaid and madras shirting, shawl-neck sweaters, and a new version of the All-American field coat.

The women's collection features a belted camp jacket, chambray and madras shirtdresses, classic wrap skirts and new chino and denim styles.

"We look forward to receiving feedback from our loyal fan-base, as well as new consumers that we hope to reach with this updated collection," said Chris Vickers, vice president of LLBean Signature.

"Our catalogue, website and social media campaign will help us engage the consumers and offer them a closer look into our company's long-standing heritage."
