Raincoat and outerwear brand London Fog is moving its operations to Toronto, New York and Connecticut just three years after it joined London Fog Industries’ Pacific Trail subsidiary in Seattle.

Todd Gilmer, marketing director for Pacific Trail, told the Seattle Times it was unclear how many of the company’s 175 workers would be affected.

The privately owned firm originally joined forces with Pacific Trail in an attempt to cut costs and restructure its debt after filing for bankruptcy protection in 1999.

Gilmer said London Fog's divisions have managed to reverse their losses, but that London Fog and its outlet-store division haven't been hitting their growth targets.

London Fog Trade, which handles design, merchandising and other business functions, will be based in Toronto, with a sales office in New York. London Fog Factory Outlet Stores, will move its headquarters to Fairfield, Conn.
