Department store Macy's has appointed Brad Jakeman as its executive VP for creative strategy, effective 16 October.

Jakeman was most recently managing director of the Global Consumer Group at financial conglomerate Citigroup, responsible for the group's advertising in 53 countries.

"Brad's new role will include responsibility for setting the strategy, positioning, character and tone of voice for the Macy's brand and its presentation," said Anne MacDonald, president of Macy's Corporate Marketing.

"In addition, he will oversee the development of visual presentation of the brand in delivering the Macy's shopping experience in order to provide a strong, consistent point of view across the national distribution channels."
