Apparel firm Marchpole Holdings on Tuesday announced it had agreed an exclusive licensing deal with designer Ozwald Boateng for a new formal and casual wear line including a jeans range.

The company said in a news release Mr Boateng will design the new collections, which it will then make and sell, with the licence initially covering the UK but being extended to other markets.

Marchpole said the first collection will be released early next year and it expects to sign similar licensing deals in the future.

It added that its business had recently been strengthened through an operational review and refinancing exercise while it has also boosted operating margins, improved efficiency and increased its order book.

Marchpole is one of the country's leading men's wear designers and distributors and is best known for products sold under licence from Yves Saint Laurent.
