Italian fashion group Mariella Burani has posted a 37.9 per cent rise in nine-month earnings, while profits before extraordinary items rose 163 per cent year-on-year to 11.3 million euros.

The firm, which also owns the Mila Schon label, said its performance was fuelled by organic growth of its clothing lines, new stores and stronger production and sales networks.

The leather goods division reported a 22 per cent rise in sales to 59.6 million euros.

Mariella Burani said it expects both sales and operating profit to continue growing next year.
