Specialty catalogue retailer Brylane Inc has appointed Mark Friedman to the position of chief marketing officer, effective 3 June.

Mr Friedman will be responsible for developing Brylane's corporate marketing initiatives, which include leading the e-commerce, consumer research and database and business development functions. He will also develop and manage the licensed businesses and strategic alliances, and will report directly to Russell Stravitz, chief executive officer of Brylane.

Prior to joining Brylane, Mr Friedman served as chief marketing officer at Brooks Brothers, where he lead the marketing team for the retail and factory outlet channels and served as the general manager of the catalogue and e-commerce channels.

Brylane, headquartered in New York, is a subsidiary of Redcats, the third largest home shopping Group in the world. Redcats is the home shopping division of Pinault-Printemps-Redoute.
