Italy-based textiles group Marzotto has signed a wool spinning and weaving joint-venture deal with Chinese textiles business Youngor and Japanese trading firm Itochu.

The venture is part of Marzotto's plan to become an international textile producer after European and US clients began changing to Chinese providers.

Marzotto, which is becoming part of a current venture between the Youngor and Itochu, hopes to boost quality of goods and services using its technical knowledge.

A new plant established by the venture covers 60,000 square metres and makes high-quality materials and garments.
