All 477 of The Men's Wearhouse Inc (MW) stores are now running ChelseaStore, the point-of-service application from Chelsea Market Systems, to optimise store processes and increase integration throughout the retail group.

The two companies teamed up to develop the application, prompted by Men's Wearhouse's inability to find a packaged application that met its need for scalability, inter-and intra-store networking, and real-time data transfer.

The new, flexible POS solution gives Men's Wearhouse the capability for international expansion and multi-channel operations, and is believed to be the first mission-critical retail application built entirely on a Java platform to enter the production phase for any major retailer.

It provides Internet access in the stores, support for international currency transactions, a more effective user interface, and an industry-standard platform for future growth.
