Internet-based platform MFG.com has announced the debut of its new MFGtextiles.com marketplace to connect industry buyers and suppliers.

The website, which will cater for apparel, footwear, home, and commercial textiles trade, allows buyers to post a Request for Quote (RFQ) that is answered by registered suppliers.

"We are launching an online sourcing platform that is truly transactional for the global textile marketplace estimated at a trillion dollars a year," said Mitch Free, CEO and Founder of MFG.com.

"MFGtextiles.com has been live quietly for a few months and already over one billion dollars worth of requests for quotes have been submitted - everyone is sourcing, from global brands, to boutique brands, to rock stars trying to launch their own clothing lines."

The site is aimed at sourcing managers, apparel buyers, interior designers, fashion and footwear designers, and those purchasing home textiles or industrial textiles.

Factories, meanwhile, will specify what types of jobs they are interested in to help match their expertise with buyer opportunities.
