Completing an extensive worldwide search to fill its top marketing post, Reebok has tapped Muktesh "Micky" Pant to assume the critical role of chief marketing officer of the Reebok brand, effective immediately.

Mr Pant has more than 25-years of global marketing experience, which includes marketing positions with Unilever and PepsiCo prior to joining Reebok seven years ago. Formerly Reebok's senior vice president of global marketing services, he reports directly to David Perdue, president of the Reebok brand.

Micky Pant replaces Angel Martinez, who resigned from the sporting goods company last July.

As Reebok brand CMO, he oversees the areas of advertising, market research, retail marketing, interactive marketing, programming, design services and event marketing. He also manages Reebok's advertising agencies, Arnell Group, New York and Berlin Cameron & Partners, New York.

Mr Pant joined Reebok in 1994 as managing director for Reebok India. In 1996, he was appointed to the position of regional director for new markets - Africa, the Middle East and India, and remained based in India. In 1999, Mr Pant was promoted to vice president of global marketing, a position based at Reebok's corporate headquarters in Massachusetts. Last year, Mr Pant was promoted to senior vice president of global marketing services.
