Women's fashion retailer Miller's Retail Ltd is to change its name to Specialty Fashion Group from 1 December, after shareholders approved the rebadging at the company's annual general meeting on 26 October.

The Sydney-based group also said it is changing the name of its large-size women's wear chain 1626 to Autograph.

Miller's is in the midst of a turnaround strategy after offloading its poorly performing discount store businesses last year. It is now focusing on its ladies' fashion lines Miller's Fashion Club, Katies, Crossroads and Autograph.

Speaking on Thursday, CEO and co-founder Gary Perlstein said sales rose 3.5% in the first quarter.

But he cautioned the prospect of a rise in interest rates in November could make this a tough festive season for the company.
