Leading Greek textile manufacturer Mouzakis today announced a successful conclusion to talks for the acquisition of a 65.2-per cent majority stake in clothes manufacturer Macoplex.

Macoplex manufactures cotton wear and children's clothes and has an average annual turnover of 800 million drachmas ($2.1m).

Mouzakis, which is listed on the Athens Stock Exchange and reported sales of $28.1m for the first nine months, said it expects turnover for the first nine months of 2001 to increase 23 per cent year on year, with a 26 per cent rise in exports.
