UK fashion and grocery retailer Marks & Spencer has appointed Cath Kidson's Michelle Ojulah to head up buying for its kidswear department.

Ojulah is set to join Marks & Spencer on 25 June, taking over from Carla Petersen who is moving to the group's menswear department. She will report to Jill Stanton who is to join the company as womenswear and kidswear director from Gap's Old Navy in July.

Ojulah was most recently head of kids at Cath Kidston, responsible for complete product development, design and buying of the entire kids' global range. Prior to that she has held roles as senior buyer at Boden, buyer for Monsoon, and started her career with George at Asda.

"M&S clothing is transforming and we now have the right leadership team in place to get on and deliver change," an M&S spokesperson said. "We're excited that Michelle is joining to bolster our kidswear team, she brings a track record of success in an area that's a real focus for us as we work to become more relevant for busy mums and dads."
