UK retailer Marks & Spencer has confirmed that both its head of buying for womenswear, and its head of merchandising for lingerie, are to leave the company.

Paula Bonham Carter, who has served as head of buying for womenswear at the business since July 2014, will leave M&S at the end of April; while Rachel Harley, head of merchandising for lingerie, swim, and active, is to depart in June. Harley, who has served in her latest role since April 2017, joined M&S in December 2015 as lingerie merchandise manager.

An M&S spokesperson said: "Both Paula and Rachel have made a great contribution to the business during their time at M&S and we wish them well for the future."

News of the departures, which were first reported by Drapers, come two months after M&S anounced plans to close another 17 stores with the loss of more than 1,000 jobs, as part of a review of its portfolio aimed at returning the group to profitability.
