Anthony Symonds, renowned for his sexy designs with a touch of the avant garde, has joined Marks & Spencer's stable of cutting-edge designers.

Anthony, who began his fashion career with John Galliano, Katharine Hamnett and Paul Smith, is to design for the company's prestigious Autograph range.

Symonds has showcased seven collections at London Fashion Week and was awarded the M&S New Generation Sponsorship for three consecutive seasons.

Renowned for his cutting skills and attention to detail, he was nominated for the New Generation Award at this year's British Fashion Awards.

Other designers in the Autograph collection include Betty Jackson, Sonja Nuttall, Julien Macdonald and acclaimed hat designer, Philip Treacy. The Autograph collection aims to recruit the best designers to create womenswear, menswear and accessories.
