UK retailer Marks & Spencer says it will not interfere with its cover model Lily Cole's decision to pose in Playboy magazine.

Its comments follow reports that 20-year old Cole will appear in French Playboy's October edition holding a teddy bear and wearing nothing but a pair of white socks on the cover.

However, a spokesperson for M&S told just-style today: "Lily Cole is a popular, high profile model who is much in demand and this is one of the reasons we have chosen to work with her.

"It is entirely her choice as to what other work she accepts and we would not wish to interfere with her career."

Cole first agreed to model Marks and Spencer's spring/summer 2008 range last November, when she attended a press launch along with M&S chief executive Stuart Rose (see above).
