Global supply chain management company Exel is to provide its logistics services to children's wear provider The Zip Project.

A joint venture between Marks & Spencer in the UK and Desmonds in Northern Ireland, Zip provides all of M&S' children's clothing lines from factories across the globe.

Under a recently forged deal, Exel will control the supply of garments from Turkey, where Zip sources products from a number of manufacturers.

Exel, from its consolidation centre in Istanbul, will collect products from suppliers, consolidate freight shipments and arrange customs clearance into the UK.

Its global visibility system, which is fully integrated into Zip's and M&S' own supply chain systems, will allow the children's wear provider to keep tabs on inbound shipments to the UK.
