The National Textile Centre (NTC) - University Research Consortium on Tuesday announced it is seeking a new executive director after Dr Joe Cunning announced plans to step down from the post after 11 years.

The NTC is the partnership by which eight universities collaborate to conduct academic research programs of interest to the domestic Fibre/Textile/Fibre Products/Retail (FTFPR) Industrial Complex.

The eight universities are Auburn, Clemson, Cornell, Georgia Tech, Philadelphia, North Carolina State, California-Davis and Massachusetts-Dartmouth.

Announcing his retirement, Dr Cunning said: "The NTC has become the nation's premier research organisation in support of a large and important industry. It is with a sense of pride and satisfaction that I turn the reigns over to the next generation."
