Nautica Enterprises yesterday announced the appointment of Christopher Heyn to the position of president of Nautica Apparel, the licensing division of Nautica Enterprises. In this role, Mr Heyn will be responsible for identifying new licensing opportunities and enhancing the division's overall contribution to the company. He will report directly to David Chu.

Mr Heyn has over 20 years of experience in the apparel industry. From 1997 until the present he was with the National Basketball Association (NBA), serving as senior vice president of the global merchandising group. His responsibilities included all aspects of the group's global product development, merchandising, licensing, sales development, marketing and direct-to-consumer initiatives.

Prior to joining the NBA, Mr Heyn served as president of menswear marketing at Kellwood Corporation, where he was responsible for the global management of the company's private label business as well as Nautica Licensed Products. Mr Heyn has also held various management positions as president and CEO of the Salant Menswear Group, president of CF Hathaway at Warnaco, and executive vice president of Christian Dior Sportswear.
