A new e-commerce platform to help high-growth fashion retailers and branded manufacturers build their online channels has been launched by Demandware Inc.

The Demandware ExpertCommerce tool is designed for small- to mid-market businesses, and combines with expertise from Sapient in ecommerce strategy, creative, advertising, analytics and technology.

"Retailers and consumer brands know they must invest in the online channel, but at the same time, investment dollars are very tight," says Stephan Schambach, Demandware's chairman and founder.

He adds that the new program "removes the risks with projects of this size and importance."

Existing Demandware clients include Jones Apparel Group, Timberland, Barneys New York, Bare Escentuals, and Frederick's of Hollywood.
