Dozens of jobs will be created with the launch of a new £1 million joint venture fabric finishing company in Northern Ireland.

Up to 60 jobs will be created by the new County Armagh-based company, which will bleach, dye and print fabric for the household and work wear market sectors.

The joint venture is the result of a partnership between Samuel Lamont Holdings and Valley Dyeworks.

Welcoming the news, Industrial Development Board member, Lawson McDonald, said: "This is an important development for the Northern Ireland textiles industry.

"It is a further example of the type of strategic partnership, with greater emphasis on design for niche markets, recommended in the recent Kurt Salmon action plan."
