A new web system has been designed by Nike for the launch of its new Nike Air Max Duncan basketball shoe.

The web system is designed as a stretchable cage around the inner shoe and provides stability for the wearer. Nike also claims that the cage will make the shoe a much softer fitting around the main contact points, preventing sore feet.

Dolphins, as well as the playing skills of San Antonio basketball player Tim Duncan, have been cited as the inspiration behind the new shoe, which Nike claim is "the lightest, most comfortable and supportive basketball shoe to date."
