Hugely popular Japanese clothing brand Uniqlo is upping the impact of its entry into the UK high street by means of a dedicated British website.

The site, which cost £40,000 to build, is part of a sales strategy for the brand which includes a £4 million advertising campaign.

The site - - supports the launch of its new London stores by providing information about the company and products on offer.

Launched in 1984 by Fast Retailing, Uniqlo's low priced casual clothes range for men, women and children is well known in Japan, but new to the UK. The firm plans to add e-commerce functionality to the web site within a year.
