US police have seized $12 million worth of counterfeit apparel bearing names such as North Face and Sean John at a warehouse in the Garment District of New York.

The haul, which has been described as one of the largest seizures of counterfeit goods in city history, also included copies of Mitchell & Ness, the NFL, the NBA, and Roca Wear-branded clothing.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg said in a statement that the raid showed the state's "dedication and commitment to putting an end to trademark counterfeiting."
