Version 6.0 of the Real-Time Shop Floor Control System software from New Generation Computing Inc and Foxfire Technologies Corp enables apparel retailers and manufacturers to collect and analyse plant-level production data.

It integrates with NGC's payroll analysis and reporting tool 'The Production Management System' (TPM). In addition, Version 6.0 enables users to share barcode reading terminals and provides real-time management of mechanic machine repairs, quality analysis and reporting, WIP backlog, line balancing and teamwork production.

Jack Peck, chairman of Foxfire Technologies Corporation, said: "Version 6.0 can effectively cut a user's hardware cost per employee by 50 per cent through terminal sharing."

Alan Brooks, president of New Generation Computing, added: "The software will help retailers and manufacturers to streamline processes, reduce costs and improve efficiencies."
