Global sporting goods maker Nike Inc has promoted Eric Sprunk to the new role of vice president for product.

In this position, Sprunk will be responsible for all Nike brand footwear, equipment and apparel from design and development to manufacturing.

Sprunk has been with Nike for 15 years working in senior financial, product and global management roles, the most recent of which was vice president of global footwear.

He will report to Charlie Denson, president of the Nike Brand.

Jan Singer will succeed Sprunk as vice president of footwear, where she will be responsible for creating and executing Nike's global footwear strategy.
